Arclight Films Pty Ltd's Asian division Easternlight Films has picked up international sales duties on The Lost Bladesman 關雲長 (2011), an upcoming historical action film being directed by Hong Kong's Alan MAK 麥兆輝 and Felix CHONG 莊文強.
The directors are two thirds of the directing and scripting trio that made the Infernal Affairs 無間道 (2002) trilogy and also wrote the screenplay on Bladesman.
The picture will star Donnie YEN 甄子丹 — who is undergoing a career revival after the success of the Ip Man 葉問 (2008) franchise and his acclaimed role in Bodyguards and Assassins 十月圍城 (2009) — and SUN Li 孫儷. Yen will also be credited as action choreographer.
The epic film is set during the wars of the Three Kingdoms (220-280AD).
The film is principally financed by China's Star Union Skykee Film & Media Advertisement Co Ltd 星匯天姬(北京)影視傳媒有限公司.
