World premieres of UFO in Her Eyes (2011) by GUO Xiaolu 郭小櫓 and the Anurag KASHYAP-produced Michael (2011) by Ribhu DASGUPTA have been added to the massive Contemporary World Cinema section of the Toronto International Film festival.
The section also contains a new festival berth for SONO Sion 園子温's Himizu ヒミズ (2011) and international premieres of Azhagarsamy's Horse (2011) by Suseendran and From Up on Poppy Hill コクリコ坂から (2011) by MIYAZAKI Goro 宮崎吾朗.
The neighbouring Visions section lines up the world premiere of TOYODA Toshiaki 豊田利晃's Monsters Club モンスターズクラブ (2011) alongside international or North American premieres of Amir NADERI's Cut カット (2011), TSUKAMOTO Shinya 塚本晋也's Kotoko KOTOKO (2011), Filipino pair Fable of the Fish Isda (2011) by Adolfo ALIX Jr. and Century of Birthing Siglo ng pagluluwal (2011) by Lav DIAZ, and Vimukthi JAYASUNDARA's Mushrooms Chatrak (2011), which previously opened at Cannes.
There is a world premiere gala screening for Australian-produced thriller Killer Elite (2011), and the same for Mausam (2011) (aka Seasons of Love, pictured) by India's Pankaj KAPUR. Also, there is a gala screening set for WEI Te-sheng 魏德聖's Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale 賽德克・巴萊 (2011), which represents its North American premiere.
Together with announcements of Apichatpong "Joe" WEERASETHAKUL อภิชาติพงศ์ วีระเศรษฐกุล's Empire (2011) and Raya MARTIN's Ars Colonia (2011), in the Wavelengths section, the festival has now largely completed its line-up.
