The Berlin International Film Festival has included a smattering of Asia-Pacific film projects for its ninth Berlinale Co-Production Market (12 – 14 Feb 2012). These include the project market's first Indian pitch and one other brought over from Rotterdam's Cinemart.
All projects have budgets between €1-7 million, experienced producers and 30% of their finance in place.
The festival's Talent Campus has less stringent requirements and includes three projects from the Asia-Pacific region (see below).
The festival, which has still not completed its Panorama selections, nor unveiled any of the Forum titles, pulled the curtain back on two more films getting special screenings; Alison Klayman's documentary about Chinese artist and dissident Ai Wei Wei and Indonesian-German documentary Children of Srikandi.
