Sentencing of Gerald GREEN and Patricia GREEN, the Los Angeles couple convicted of bribery at the Bangkok International Film Festival เทศกาลภาพยนตร์นานาชาติกรุงเทพฯ, has been delayed again.
In September, the pair was found guilty of conspiracy and money laundering charges under the US's Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Sentencing had been due yesterday, but after a 90 minute hearing Judge George Wu, postponed a decision on their punishment until 29 April.
Prosecutors showed evidence that $1.8 million of bribes had been paid by the Greens to Thai official Juthamas SIRIWAN จุฑามาศ ศิริวรรณ and her daughter in order to win management contracts at the festival. Charges have not been brought against Siriwan.
