Germany's Ascot Elite Home Entertainment and Brazil's Conquest Filmes became the latest distributors to acquire rights to South Korean animation Leafie 마당을 나온 암탉 (2011).
Handled by Korean sales firm Finecut Co Ltd 화인컷, the film has been widely sold following its breakout hit status in South Korea. The company say that international distributors are planning theatrical releases next year targeting family audiences.
At the recent American Film Market Finecut also sold rights on thriller Blind 블라인드 (2011) to Japan's King Records Ltd キングレコード, to Germany's MFA+, to Taiwan's Eagle International Communication Co Ltd 鴻聯國際電影公司 and Thailand's STG Multimedia.
Its summer horror title The Cat 고양이: 죽음을보는 두개의눈 (2011) (pictured) was also sold for Japan to Magnetar and for French-speaking territories to Mercury. It has previously sold to multiple South East Asian distributors.
Athena: Goddess of War 아테나 더 무비 (2011), a spin-off from the TV series, added sales to China (New View TV & Media), German-speaking territories (Tiberius Films) and North America (FUNimation Entertainment) in AFM.
Finecut's new comedy movie, Unstoppable Family 가문의 영광 4 : 가문의 수난 (2011) was sold to Japan (Joy n Contents Group 조이앤컨텐츠그룹), Taiwan (Eagle), and the US (CJ CGV America Holdings Inc).
South Korea's Joy n Contents also picked up Japanese rights to Heartbeat 심장이 뛴다 (2010) featuring Lost star starring KIM Yun-jin 김윤진.
