GSC in double multiplex opening

Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn Bhd, Malysia's largest cinema operator, last week opened two further multiplexes.
Both the GSC Setia City Mall, Shah Alam and the GSC Paradigm Mall, Kelana Jaya, are 9-screen complexes located in the Klang Valley area.
The company said that its investment in the Setia City site was RM 17 million ($5.57 million) and that of the Paradigm Mall some RM 19 million ($6.22 million).
Setia City includes 4 digital halls and has a total capacity of 1,552 seats and 18 wheel chair spaces. Paradigm Mall has 6 digital halls and can seat 1,548, plus a further 18 wheelchair spaces.
Adult ticket prices range from RM7 ($2.29) at their lowest to RM11 ($3.60) at weekends and public holidays.
The openings give GSC a current total of 26 cinema complexes, 215 screens (of which 70 are digital) and seating capacity of 39,800 nationwide.GSC plans to open another two cinemas – GSC City One Mall Kuching and GSC Amanjaya, Sg Petani by end of 2012.
In 2013 GSC has scheduled another 10-screen GSC Palm Mall in Seremban (Q1), 11-Screen GSC Nu Sentral KL (Q2) and a 'GSC Lite' – an 8-screener, GSC Bintang Megamall in Miri. In 2014, an 11 screen complex has been planned for the IOI City Mall in Putrajaya.
