Specialist distributor Kino Lorber Inc has acquired North American rights to Thai director Pen-ek RATANARUANG เป็นเอก รัตนเรือง's Headshot ฝนตกขึ้นฟ้า (pictured).
The film, about a contract killer who wakes from a coma to find that he sees the world upside down, had its world premiere in this month's Toronto festival and will play in competition at next month's Tokyo event.
Sales are handled by France's Memento Films International.
Kino Lorber aims to give the film a theatrical release at an unspecified date in 2012. It has previously handled Asian titles including Poetry 시 (2010) and City of Life and Death 南京!南京! (2008) through its Kino International Corp label.
