Huayi sets date for One 2

Huayi Brothers (華誼兄弟) has announced that the sequel to Feng Xiaogang's (馮小剛) romantic comedy If You are the One (非誠勿擾) will open in China on 22 Dec.
The original movie made approximately RMB325 million ($49 million) in China after opening on 18 Dec 2008. At the time, it held the box office record as the country's highest grossing domestic film.
The sequel stars the original film's leads, Ge You (葛優) and Shu Qi (舒淇) and is primarily set on Hainan Island. They are are joined by popular actors Sun Honglei (孫紅雷) and Yao Chen (姚晨).
It had earlier been reported that the sequel would open on 18 Dec 2010, head-to-head with another high profile films, Chen Kaige's (陳凱歌) Sacrifice (趙氏孤兒) that also stars Ge You.
Another highly anticipated film, Jiang Wen's (姜文) Let the Bullets Fly (讓子彈飛), is currently scheduled to open on 16 Dec. It also stars Ge, arguably China's most bankable actor, in a leading role.
Earlier this year, Feng's Aftershock (唐山大地震) made RMB667 million ($100 million) at the box office in China, restoring Feng's position as the director of the country's highest grossing domestic film.
