Big Cinemas, the exhibition chain of Indian giant Reliance, is promoting Indian films in the US by putting on a festival at venues across its American theatres network.
The Spirit of my Tiranga event (7-15 Aug) is timed to coincide with India's Independence Day (Aug 15) and will screen a marathon of modern classic Indian movies. Titles include Rang De Basanti, Lage Raho Munnabhai, 3 Idiots, Chak De India (pictured), Namaste London and Rock On.
Screenings will be free of charge to patrons of its US cinemas who have bought tickets to other movies and booked online.
BIG Cinemas US has 190 screens present across 20 cities. The festival will take in 11 venues including New York, New Jersey, San Jose, Los Angeles and Falls Church, Virginia.
