Iranian auteur director Abbas KIAROSTAMI has moved into post-production on his Japanese-language feature Like Someone in Love ライク・サムワン・イン・ラブ.
The film is a co-venture between France's mk2 Group and Japan's Eurospace ユーロスペース, with MK2 also handling international sales.
MK2 confirmed the film as starring TAKANASHI Rin 高梨臨, Okuno Tadashi (奥野匡) and KASE Ryo 加瀬亮 in the tale of a female Japanese student who prostitutes herself to pay for her studies and finds unexpected kindness from an elderly client.
The $4.8 million picture was originally scheduled to shoot from April last year, but was delayed by the effects of the March earthquake and tsunami. It started its eight-week shoot in October. The new schedule would put it in contention for a slot at May's Cannes Film Festival.
