Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures has acquired US rights to Thai action film BKO Bangkok Knockout (โคตรสู้ โคตรโส). Sales are handled by Sahamongkolfilm International (สหมงคลฟิล์ม).
The film is directed by Panna Rittikrai (พันนา ฤทธิไกร) and features a group of 'fight club' pals whose styles vary from Muay Thai and Capoeira to kung fu and Tai Chi. When one of their number is kidnapped they find themselves fighting for their lives.
"BKO is a bigger, badder, crazier Born to Fight (เกิดมาลุย)," said Magnet SVP Tom Quinn. The company Magnet says it will release the film in 2011.
