The Philippines' Raya MARTIN has been selected as one of six international film-makers who will join the first edition of the Berlin International Film Festival's fellowship programme, Berlinale Residency.
The Residency is a four month educational programme where film-makers with specific projects in hand can finalise their scripts, and develop production and distribution strategies. The film-makers and projects were chosen by a jury of industry professionals from Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Martin is to direct New Spain, a project written by him and Norman Wilwayco and produced by Netherlands based Arleen Cuevas through her company Cinematografica. His previous feature Independencia (2009) was supported by Berlin's World Cinema Fund.
