Singapore's Media Development Authority (MDA) is to add S$20 million ($16.2 million) to the incentive schemes it offers the media and entertainment sector. The objective is to improve the sector's productivity.
The MDA said that S$15 million ($12.2 million) of the new money will go into its 'Talent Assistance' grant scheme to upgrade skills; and a further S$5 million ($4.1 million) will go into 'Enterprise Assistance' for process improvements.
The state-backed regulator and financier last year streamlined its incentives system from 46 schemes to just five and says that a total of S$88 million ($71.3 million) has been set aside for the five schemes till 2013.
