Screen NSW has agreed to provide A$4.2 million ($3.84 million) into 23 new films, documentaries and TV programmes.
The Arts Minister Virginia Judge said that the 23 will spend some $62 million ($56.7 million) of direct production expenditure in the state.
"Earlier this year we announced an extra $25 million ($22.3 million) to attract both domestic and international production to the state. "The great news is that we're seeing immediate results with the Australian producers of these 23 projects wanting to shoot and/or post produce in NSW," said Judge.
The four films being supported in the August funding round are:
Guy PEARCE-starring drama 33 Postcards 三十三張明信片 (2011) about a Chinese orphan and directed by Pauline CHAN 陳寶玲, which receives A$200,000 ($183,000) from the state.
Daniel NETTHEIM's The Hunter (2011), about a mercenary to be played by Willem DAFOE who is on the hunt for a rare animal.
Lore, Cate SHORTLAND's story of five German children who embark on a life changing journey in the spring of 1945. It received a promise of finance from federal body Screen Australia in its July round.
