Ross POLLACK (pictured) will today leave Celestial Pictures Ltd 天映娛樂有限公司, the Chinese film entertainment group, where he has been CEO for the past three years.
He will become head of the Asian practice at management consultancy firm Insigniam, with his departure from Celestial effective tomorrow (8 Aug).
Pollack joined Celestial, which was built around the Shaw Brothers film library, having previously been responsible for distribution of filmed entertainment at Sony Pictures Television International, based in Hong Kong. He previously held other roles with Sony based in Los Angeles.
Celestial, which is owned by Malaysia's Astro Group, was split into separate units earlier this year, with Celestial Pictures continuing as a film company while its TV channels were assigned to a new group, Celestial Tiger Entertainment, which is jointly owned by US groups Saban Capital Group and Lionsgate. Pollack, who was also on the board of CTE, said that he took his decision to leave Celestial Pictures in February this year.
