French distributor Pretty Pictures has picked up multi-territory rights to I Carried You Home ปาดังเบซาร์, a drama from Thailand by first time feature director Tongpong CHANTARANGKUL ต้องปอง จันทรางกูร.

The company says it will release the film in France in the second half of 2012 and will present it to distributors in Germany and Benelux in near future.

Rights were represented by production house Triton Co Ltd.

I Carried You Home screened this year at the Busan International Film Festival 부산국제영화제. "It takes audiences on a deeply emotional journey, taking up the universal themes of homecoming, loss and gain. The film's elegance and precision in both story-telling and style are remarkable; they establish Chantarangkul as a strong new voice," said Pretty Pictures head of acquisitions Aranka MATITS.

Pretty Pictures has a track record of handling Asian art-house pictures including North Korean A Schoolgirl's Diary 한 녀학생의 일기 (2006), The Sun also Rises 在太陽昇起的地方 (2007) and Norwegian Wood ノルウェイの森 (2010).
