The Tokyo International Film Festival 東京国際映画祭 has set Brad Pitt-starring baseball drama Moneyball (2011) as the closing film for its 24th edition (22-30 Oct 2011).
The film tells the true story of Oakland Athletics' general manager Billy Beane's successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players.
The film is directed by Bennett MILLER and co-stars Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright. It will be released by Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan ソニー・ピクチャーズ エンタテインメント on 11 Nov 2011.
The festival previously announced The Three Musketeers (2011) as its opening film and Jackie CHAN 成龍 film 1911 辛亥革命 (2011) as a 'Special Opening Film'.
