Toy Story 3 heads for the stars

In just seven days of release Toy Story 3 has broken the all-time box office record for an animated feature in Hong Kong.
The film was released on 15 July and on 21 July hit HK$37.5 million ($4.84 million), surpassing the previous high of HK$35.7 million ($4.61 million) held by Toy Story 2 in a two month run from 3 Feb 2000.
Other Pixar titles The Incredibles and Up take third and fourth places with HK$33.8 million ($4.36 million) and HK$33.3 million ($4.30 million), according to dat from the Motion Picture Industry Association. Fox's Ice Age 3 is fifth with $4.18 million.
Shrek Forever After has been on release since 1 July 2010 and has grossed HK$25.7 million ($3.32 million), putting it in ninth spot in the top ten.
The only Asian film in the ranking is 2002 title Spirited Away (千と千尋の神隠し) with HK$25.4 million ($3.26 million).
