Multinational film group Entertainment One Ltd has struck a pact with South Korean distributor United Entertainment Korea.
United will handle all media rights in South Korea to eOne's home entertainment titles, while eOne continues to license its theatrical titles to other distributors. The first titles announced are Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
United has similar home entertainment deals with Sony Pictures, NBC Universal and Twentieth Century Fox.
"As we continue to expand our global distribution network, it's essential that we build strong partnerships with local industry leaders like UEK," said Patrice THEROUX, eOne's president, filmed entertainment.
The deal with United falls short of the corporate acquisitions that the Canadian group has struck in Europe, and last year in Australasia when it bought Hopscotch Films.
