UTV Movies reaches into Africa

Indian film channel UTV Movies International is to launch in East Africa following a deal between UTV and Tristar Media Marketing.
The channel will be available on cable TV in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Zambia & Malawi (together known as the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa or COMESA countries).
"The African region boasts of a sizeable ethnic [Indian] community," M. K. Anand, UTV's CEO, Broadcasting, said.
The channel, which is backed by the UTV Motion Pictures film studio, is also available in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates.
