The Weinstein Company and Celestial Pictures Ltd 天映娛樂有限公司 are teaming up to remake martial arts films Come Drink with Me 大醉俠 (1965) and The Avenging Eagle 冷血十三鷹 (1978) (pictured). Both films are part of the 760-title Shaw Brothers library, managed by Celestial.

The two remakes mark Celestial's first English–language productions. The Hong Kong company, a subsidiary of Malaysia's Astro Group, produced GAO Xiaosong 高曉松's action drama My Kingdom 大武生 (2011) and Kenneth BI 畢國智's forthcoming film Control 控制 (2013).

John FUSCO will write the screenplay for both remakes, which will be co-produced by Harvey WEINSTEIN and David THWAITES. The trio is also attached to YUEN Woo-ping 袁和平's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny 臥虎藏龍Ⅱ, which will go into production in March 2014.

In 2003, Miramax Films – founded by Harvey and Bob WEINSTEIN – obtained home video and remake rights of selective titles within the Shaw Brothers library from Celestial Pictures. Two years later, in 2005, the two brothers founded The Weinstein Company.
